A simple way to break the rear triangle to install a Gates CarbonDrive belt, designed to fit in a 7/8x.035” tube chainstay in front of the drop out. Can be machined to fit smaller diameter tubes or to fit on a hooded style drop out. Shipped with a M6 draw bolt and washer.
We have been using these since 2008 with great success, the conic taper takes all of the force in this design so the more force on the joint the tighter the taper binds.
